Child
Protection
Uppermill Band
is firmly and enthusiastically committed to ensuring that banding is a
safe, friendly and enjoyable experience for all young people.
The
introduction of a Child Protection Policy is not just to protect young
people in music, it is to introduce good practice, raise awareness and
provide peace of mind.
Child
Protection is about:
-
Ensuring that any young person or vulnerable adult is safe in any
environment
-
An awareness and education of others to understand what factors cause
young people harm
-
Identifying risks to young people
It
is the responsibility of every adult working in the band, whether as a
player or a committee member, to ensure that all young people can enjoy
banding in a safe and enjoyable environment.
The
band recognises its responsibility to safeguard the welfare of all
young people involved by protecting them from physical, emotional or
sexual harm.
The
band is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable environment for
young people under the age of 18. Implicit in this is the commitment to
ensure that all publications, resources and media represent
participants appropriately and with due respect to parental wishes and
agreement. By adopting the points outlined in this policy we hope to
put in place the best possible practice to protect young people
wherever photographs are taken or images recorded for any purpose.
